A majestic mural by local artist Graffmatt has been unveiled in the Jean-Jaurès alley in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, revitalizing this urban space.

Art graces Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne. Designed to revitalize an underappreciated urban area, this mural strengthens the town's cultural and artistic identity. The Jean-Jaurès alley, a passage between the Forum and the town center, reveals a new face with a mural by a recognized local artist: Graffmatt.
Before Graffmatt could use his spray cans, the facade had to be restored to prepare the mural's surface. Art then began to take shape in the alley. The artist created a work reflecting the region, combining forest, waterfall, animals, and a portrait. Graffmatt has already demonstrated his talent in various locations around town, notably at the Theatre with the portrait of Gérard Philipe, the mural on the Sorea transformer, and the graffiti at « La Table et L’ardoise ».
This new mural is distinguished by an artistic style that harmoniously blends realism and graphic design, offering a visually expressive and contemporary result. It covers a total area of 124 m², with its creation beginning in early October 2026.
