This Thursday, October 22nd, the route for the 2027 Tour de France was unveiled at the summit of the Puy de Dôme. The event, held at the invitation of Lionel Chauvin, President of the Department, was attended by Marion Rousse and Christian Prudhomme, respective directors of the women's and men's races.
In August 2027, the Puy-de-Dôme will be the setting for two stages of the Tour de France Femmes with Zwift. On Friday, August 6th, the peloton will depart from La Bourboule to reach Clermont-Ferrand. The following day, a decisive 170 km stage with 3,900 meters of positive elevation gain will see the riders finish at the summit of the Géant des Dômes, promising a spectacular finale to determine the 2027 Tour winner.
This historic finish will take place in the commune of Orcines. Beyond the sporting achievement, this event offers a tremendous opportunity to promote the region, its dynamism, and its inhabitants. The mobilization of associations, farmers, volunteers, and local businesses is called for to make this event a true popular celebration.
