Born from encounters between young French and Italian individuals, three short films addressing climate change and its related questions have been produced. These works are the result of the ALCOTRA INCIT program, in which the Communauté de communes actively participates.
Last summer, a call for applications brought together 30 young people, selected for their motivations and skills, to participate in the INCIT Climate Camp. During this journey, they received training on climate change issues and filmmaking techniques.
The first short film, titled 'Six voices, six perspectives on the Franco-Italian mountain,' offers a reflection on our relationship with the mountains in the face of profound changes, questioning our anchors. The second, 'Distacco – Death – Renaissance,' journeys along the Alpine border, exploring the impact of human activity on the landscapes and imagining a rebirth.
The third film takes a different tone: a group of young people creates a documentary on climate change by interviewing mountain dwellers and observing landscape transformations. They realize the essential question concerns their own capacity to act and influence mindsets.
These three short films premiered on May 23rd at the Cinéma Centrale in Turin, followed by the 'Après-Demain' event organized by the La Plagne Tourist Office and the Communauté de communes Les Versants d'Aime.
This project, supported by the Interreg France Italy ALCOTRA program, exemplifies how dialogue between science, culture, and creativity can mobilize new generations towards stronger environmental awareness, using cinema as a tool for reflection, participation, and change, and transforming feelings of powerlessness into positive action.
