The Lyon Biennale occupies the Saint-Antoine parking garage in Lyon with Mikhail Karikis' video installation "Sounds from Beneath," exploring the underground world and working-class heritage.

LPA Mobilités is hosting the video installation Sounds from Beneath by Mikhail Karikis at the Saint Antoine parking. The artist presents a choir of former miners 'replaying' the sounds of the mine, offering an auditory memory and a nostalgic echo of a shared working-class past.
Projected within the Parc Saint-Antoine, the mental representation of an underground world is all the more poignant. It connects with the theme of passage, a strong focus of this 2026 Biennale edition, titled 'Passing from one dream to another'.
For the first time, the Parc Saint Antoine is transforming its service area into a screening room. Visitors and users are invited to take a break and immerse themselves in the artist's visual and sonic universe.
An associated partner of the 18th Contemporary Art Biennale, LPA Mobilités renews its support for artistic creation and reaffirms its commitment to hosting artworks in its parks, thereby contributing to the quality of the urban space.

The installation can be discovered until December 13, 2026, at Parking Saint Antoine, level -1. Admission is free.
