In response to the diminishing water supply, everyone is urged to adapt their habits to preserve this essential resource.
Regarding green spaces and plantations, watering is prohibited, except for drip irrigation between 6 PM and 10 AM the following day. Watering trees and shrubs under 3 years old, and labeled cultural plants, is forbidden between 12 PM and 6 PM. Sports fields can only be watered on the nights of Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, from 6 PM to 10 AM. Domestic vegetable gardens are also prohibited from watering between 9 AM and 8 PM.
For domestic uses, filling swimming pools is forbidden, except for topping up. Washing vehicles is prohibited, unless at professional stations equipped with a water recycling system of at least 70%. Cleaning facades, roofs, roads, sidewalks, and other impermeable surfaces is also forbidden.
Further restrictions apply to golf courses, racecourses, and specific industrial or agricultural water uses. The prefectural decree of October 29, 2026, details all measures.
The prefecture encourages the public to adopt good practices for sustainable water management. More information is available on the SAGYRC website.
