To prevent public disorder during the announced mobilizations this weekend, the Prefect of the Loire, François-Xavier Bieuville, has issued several orders concerning different sectors of the department, notably the Roannais region.
Two main measures are to be noted. Firstly, the prohibition of undeclared protest gatherings of more than five people, from Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 9 a.m. to Sunday, November 1, at 6 a.m., in the hypercenter of Roanne. Secondly, the prohibition for individuals causing public disorder to wear personal protective equipment or clothing and objects intended to conceal their faces to prevent identification, from Saturday, October 31, at 8 a.m. to Sunday, November 1, at 8 a.m., particularly in the hypercenter of Roanne.
François Durillon, deputy for public tranquility in Le Coteau, remains in contact with the National Police services regarding the security of the areas around the Loire bridge, connecting Roanne to Le Coteau.
These measures aim to prevent public disorder and ensure the safety of residents, shopkeepers, and public property.
