Last week, the town's cemetery was the site of a special project thanks to the intervention of the PASSAGE association, which came to lend a hand to the municipal services.
In total, 10 young people, supervised by two educators, worked on site with spades, rakes, and bags. Their tasks included collecting leaves, cleaning, and general tidying. They worked each morning from 9 am to 12 pm.
'This action is important because we are only two gardeners for the municipality, and Viry has three cemeteries,' confides Yago, head of green spaces. Autumn is a particularly busy season for the municipal teams, marked by pruning, planting, and re-turfing.
Beyond the practical help provided, it was the human aspect of this collaboration that was highlighted. For the head of green spaces, working with these young people was a positive experience: 'It's a real pleasure to work with young people on this type of project,' Yago continues.
The municipality warmly thanks the PASSAGE association and its young participants for their valuable assistance. The cemetery is now ready for November.
