VALTOM has selected 21 schools and educational structures to participate in the "Model Institutions" program during the 2026-2027 school year, aiming to raise young people's awareness about waste reduction.

The objective is to encourage young people to adopt more responsible daily practices. This program involves primary schools, middle schools, high schools, associations, and leisure centers across the VALTOM territory.
Voluntary structures will receive support to implement concrete projects related to waste prevention. Young people will discover new habits and become ambassadors for good practices.
To guide them, VALTOM is partnering with three organizations: REEA (Auvergne Environmental Education Network), Terana, and Green Couture.
This new edition includes 12 primary schools (including Jean Zay School in Beaumont, Simone Veil School in Châteaugay, Edgar Quinet School in Clermont-Ferrand, and George Sand School in Thiers), 2 middle schools (Les Prés College in Issoire and Liziniat College in Saint-Germain-Lembron), 3 high schools (Amédée Gasquet High School and Anna Rodier/Godefroy High School in Clermont-Ferrand, Murat High School in Issoire), 2 associations (Ma Chance Moi Aussi in Clermont-Ferrand and a social children's home in Messeix), and 2 leisure centers (Mond’Arverne Leisure Center in Saint-Georges-sur-Allier and Sayat Leisure Center).
Over the months, participants will experiment and put into practice solutions adapted to their environment, with the ambition of sustainably changing habits.
