For its 20th edition, the ALIMENTERRE festival highlights nine diverse films aimed at stimulating reflection on our food systems and their global interdependencies. The screenings will cover crucial topics such as the role of women in agriculture, land grabbing by agribusiness, the impact of pesticides on biodiversity, water management, livestock farming, and fishing.
Each screening, offered at a single price of €2, will be followed by discussions with local experts, associations, or producers. Among the films featured are Insecticide, how agrochemistry killed insects (2021), On the Water, from carelessness to disobedience (2024), Living Beings – Questioning our links (2023), Ébullition (2025), Land Grabbers (2025), Women of the Lands (2025), Salt Workers… in the feminine (2023), In the Name of the Sea, towards sustainable fishing? (2025), and Concrete in our courgettes (2021).
Specific encounters are planned, including discussions with the Loire Forez Natural Sciences Society (SSNLF), a farmer, the collective La Frondaison, the refugee reception collective, the entomological association of Auvergne, and beekeeper Antoine Sterne. A dinner aperitif is also organized on Friday, November 20 with Aimée Wallin from the Ghana Food Movement, before the screening of Ébullition.
Other partnerships enrich the program, notably with the organic and local solidarity purchasing group “Le Gandot”, the association Ghana Food Movement, Anis étoilé, Nicolas Fouillant (economic development expert), and Marilyn Ratinaud from the Tracteuses group. The association Terre de Liens will also be present for a debate on the film Concrete in our courgettes.
These screenings are offered in partnership with Les Monts qui Pétillent, thus providing a platform for discussion and awareness on essential themes for our future.
