Faced with the deteriorating situation, the lower Arve sector is officially in a crisis situation, the highest level (4/4), starting from Thursday, October 1, 2026. This measure also applies to the Dranses, Chéran, and Usses sectors, where water usage restrictions are extended until October 31, 2026.
Furthermore, the restriction measures already in place in the other five watersheds of the region are also extended until October 31, 2026. These include the Fier, the middle Arve, and the south-west Lémanique, which remain on reinforced alert (level 3/4), as well as the Genevois and the upper Arve, maintained at alert (level 2/4).
The prefectural decree detailing these temporary restrictions on certain water uses is available on the website of the State services in Haute-Savoie, in the section dedicated to drought.
