As part of the European ALCOTRA program (Alpes Latines COopération TRAnsfrontalière), the Communauté de communes des Versants d’Aime is participating in the « PITER+ GRAIES ClimaLab » project. This initiative aims to reduce the territory's vulnerability to climate change through local actions.
Thanks to the DECID project, the le Cali’Son building, which houses the music, theater, and dance school as well as the EAC leisure center, is now equipped with adjustable sunshades. These solar protections, operating without electrical connection, enhance the comfort of students, teachers, and users by limiting heat exposure. The sunshades adapt to sunlight conditions and can be adjusted from inside.
Another initiative involves the Amstramgram multi-activity center, where bioclimatic awnings have replaced the old reed screens in the courtyard. These retractable, UV-protective structures allow for easy modulation of shade based on weather conditions and automatically close in strong winds, improving children's comfort and facilitating staff's daily work. Polycarbonate panels have also been added to allow children to enjoy the outdoors in various weather.
Concurrently, the INCIT project is conducting climate change awareness activities for young people in Versants d’Aime. Educational workshops, animations, and shows on diverse topics such as aquatic environments, wildlife, and natural risks are organized in middle schools and primary schools.
These projects, funded by European grants, result in tangible improvements: enhanced comfort in facilities, anticipation of climate change effects, and education for future generations. Cross-border cooperation is thus highlighted as a means to act collectively against a challenge that transcends territorial boundaries.
