The 2026 edition of the Savoie Mont Blanc University (USMB) International Week took place from October 5 to 9, bringing together 48 international partners from 21 countries and 5 continents. The university's flagship event focused on the unifying theme of 'Sport, Health, and Well-being'.
A rich and innovative program was offered, combining practical workshops, conferences, and cultural activities. The conferences on international mobility, in particular, were very successful with USMB students, demonstrating their appetite for international experiences.
About ten workshops were dedicated to international partners, addressing key issues such as physical and mental health, stress management, study organization for high-level athletes, sport as a tool for inclusion, balanced nutrition, and combating sedentary lifestyles through the Climb United project. These workshops facilitated collective reflection on improving well-being in university communities.
Field activities were also organized to foster informal exchanges and discovery of the region, including a mountain hike, a boat trip on Lake Annecy, yoga and meditation sessions, and sports activities like biathlon and climbing.
On Tuesday, October 6, a Welcome Party was held at the ice rink in Chambéry, bringing together international students, mentors, USMB staff involved in international relations, and partners to celebrate cultural diversity.
The week also provided an opportunity to consolidate partnerships, particularly with the university networks UNITA and GEMINAE, and to discuss the initial results of the European project Climb United.
The 2026 edition involved 48 international partners, 34 represented universities, and nearly 300 participants at the Welcome Party. USMB thanks all stakeholders for their contribution and looks forward to 2027 to amplify this international dynamic.
