On the occasion of the Heritage Days on September 19 and 20, Savoie Déchets opened its facilities, attracting 341 visitors, an increase of nearly 30% compared to the previous edition.

For the Heritage Days, held on Friday September 19 and Saturday 20, Savoie Déchets opened its facilities to the public. Over these two days, visitors explored the behind-the-scenes processes of waste treatment and recovery through three distinct visits: the sorting center, the energy recovery plant, and the composting platform.
At the sorting center, participants followed the journey of yellow bin waste, learning how packaging is sorted by material to be directed to appropriate recycling streams.
The visit to the energy recovery plant (UVETD) explained the fate of black bin waste. Its incineration produces electricity and steam, thus valorizing its energy potential.
The composting platform showcased the treatment of food and green waste. After several processing stages, this waste is transformed into compost.
In total, 21 visiting slots were offered, attracting 341 people, compared to 264 visitors in 2025. This attendance reflects a growing public interest in understanding the waste cycle and the solutions for sorting, recovery, and second life.
Savoie Déchets warmly thanks all visitors for their participation, curiosity, and the quality of the exchanges. These events aim to raise awareness about waste treatment facilities and educate everyone on the challenges of sorting, recycling, energy recovery, and composting.
