The 2026-2027 school year marks an evolution in the educational offerings of Synchro mobilités, the transport entity of Grand Chambéry. The goal is to help students better understand mobility challenges and encourage them to adopt more autonomous, active, and responsible daily travel habits.
The new activities, designed to adapt to the age of students from kindergarten to CM2, are integrated into concrete educational projects. The Parcours Mobil' (Mobility Paths) offer a participatory approach to eco-mobility, combining discovery, experimentation, and action.
These class projects allow students to deepen their understanding of mobility issues. Depending on the chosen path, they can explore different modes of transport, practice cycling, reflect on their neighborhood, or approach mobility from an artistic and creative angle. The aim is to go beyond simple awareness, inviting students to observe, reflect, experiment, and collectively build their travel habits.
Additionally, 'Mobil' à la carte' sessions cater to more specific needs. They focus on learning to walk safely, discovering the health benefits of active mobility, learning to read a map to plan journeys, and reflecting on the impacts of different transport modes. Civibus activities are also offered to learn about and use the bus network, while the Savoir Rouler à Vélo (Learn to Ride a Bike) program supports CM2 students towards autonomous and safe cycling.
Grand Chambéry thus reaffirms its commitment to guiding young people towards more autonomous and sustainable mobility. This policy is supported by educational actions, school eco-mobility project support, the development of 'pédibus' (walking buses) and 'vélobus' (bike buses), as well as programs like Savoir Rouler à Vélo and Civibus. The objective is to introduce alternatives to individual cars and encourage active, shared, and safe mobility practices.
