As part of the renovation of the L'Odyssée building in Chambéry, the association LA SASSON will temporarily transfer part of its activities to the Pinel building, located on the site of the Centre Hospitalier Spécialisé de la Savoie in Bassens. This provisional installation is planned only for the duration of the construction work.
The L'Odyssée building, owned by Cristal Habitat and located on boulevard de Lémenc in Chambéry, is undergoing a major rehabilitation project led by LA SASSON to improve the reception conditions for the people housed there.
Currently, L'Odyssée accommodates 30 places in its Centre d’hébergement et de réinsertion sociale (CHRS) for stabilization and 10 places in its Lits Halte Soins Santé (LHSS). A maximum of 40 people will therefore be affected by the transfer to Bassens.
The renovation work will notably focus on improving rooms and sanitary facilities, strengthening the privacy of the residents, and adapting premises to better meet the needs of the LHSS. During the construction period, the accommodated individuals will be housed in the Pinel building, temporarily made available on the CHS of Bassens site.
This is not the creation of a new facility in Bassens, but a 'drawer operation' allowing LA SASSON to continue providing accommodation and support during the works in Chambéry.
The individuals concerned are already supported by LA SASSON's teams. CHRS residents are referred by the Integrated Reception and Orientation Service (SIAO) and benefit from social support towards access to rights, health, integration, and housing. The LHSS accommodate homeless individuals whose health requires care and a period of shelter, without needing hospitalization.
Throughout the installation period in Bassens, professional staff will be present on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including social workers, accommodation staff, night watchmen, and health professionals.
LA SASSON will also work closely with the municipality of Bassens and the Centre hospitalier spécialisé to ensure this temporary period proceeds under the best conditions and that any questions can be quickly answered.
The installation in Bassens is estimated to last 8 to 10 months, corresponding to the time needed for the move, the construction work, and the reinstallation in the renovated premises.
