In the coming weeks, the municipality of Aime-la-Plagne will remove parking spaces to comply with new national regulations aimed at enhancing pedestrian safety.

Work will soon begin in Aime-la-Plagne to redevelop certain parking areas. These removals are in response to a state-imposed obligation, stipulating that parking spaces located within 5 meters of pedestrian crossings must be eliminated nationwide by December 31, 2026. The goal is to improve pedestrian visibility, especially for children, and thus enhance their safety.
The Aime-la-Plagne town hall has worked to minimize the impact of these changes, particularly in the town center. Out of the 45 affected spaces, 40 are located on Tarentaise avenue. Thanks to various solutions studied, only about fifteen spaces will ultimately not be retained.
The freed-up spaces may be redeveloped with bicycle racks, benches, green areas, and trees. The municipality will pay close attention to the design of these new amenities, ensuring that vegetation and furniture preserve visibility to guarantee the safety of all pedestrians, especially the youngest.
The work will take place throughout the autumn. The municipality emphasizes that these changes are the result of a national regulatory evolution, and efforts are being made to limit their impact on residents' daily lives.
