On Monday, November 2nd, the young municipal councilors gathered in the Council Room of the town hall to prepare for their next mission: the solidarity waste collection morning, organized for this Saturday, November 7th! For the occasion, Jean-Christophe Decavèle, deputy in charge of the environment, was invited to introduce himself to the children and exchange with them.
On Saturday, it's time for action! Jean-Christophe polled the troops on their participation and reminded them of some safety instructions: children must be accompanied by an adult, and their route will be secured, likely within Montchervet park. A breakfast will be offered upon arrival to motivate the teams. The morning will conclude at 11:30 AM with a review of the amount of waste collected.
A new feature this year: each team will have a yellow bag and a black bag for sorting, a guideline well understood by most of the young councilors. The discussion then broadened to water consumption and daily savings, with the children showing keen interest in these topics.
The meeting also addressed questions about water quality, with discussions on wastewater, fishing, and water quality indicator fish, such as trout. The children asked numerous questions to Sabrina Garçonnet, a water specialist.
A small event punctuated the meeting: Ambre lost a tooth, quickly assisted by Blandine. To conclude, the children could admire the exhibition of their drawings in the town hall lobby.
The rendezvous is set for Saturday, November 7th, starting at 8:30 AM, in front of the town hall for breakfast before heading to Montchervet park. Thanks were extended to the young councilors for their enthusiasm and commitment.
