The young councilors of the Children's Municipal Council (CCE) marked their return on Monday, September 28. After a shared lunch, they gathered in the municipal council room for their first session of the 2026-2027 mandate. The meeting began with introductions in the presence of Mayor Philippe Marx, as well as Blandine Bamet-Monfray, Sébastien Meunier, and Sabrina Garçonnet, before discussing the year's projects.
Proposals from the young councilors poured in, covering various aspects of municipal life: the creation of a pump track in Montchervet Park, a reading cabin, renovation of the tennis courts, development of a multi-sport area near the college, a shared vegetable garden, tree planting, construction of cycle paths, increased security around schools, and the introduction of an electric bike rental service.
Ideas also included moments of conviviality, such as game afternoons with seniors, visits, a picnic, a large snack, a foam party for children, and wooden games in the playground. One proposal received unanimous support: to adapt the school bell's tune with the seasons, featuring different music for Halloween and Christmas.
This new mandate begins with several important upcoming events. On October 5, Fabrice Macheret, municipal councilor for Security and president of the liaison committee for veteran and patriotic associations, will discuss the duty of remembrance with the young councilors. They will then work with Jean-Christophe Decavèle, 3rd Deputy Mayor for Agriculture, Environment, and Buildings, on environmental issues.
For this first meeting, each young councilor received a kit including a notebook in CCE colors, a town pen, and a small jar of honey from Saint-Georges, produced from the Montchervet beehives inaugurated by the previous mandate's councilors. The day also marked the 10th birthday of Maïssane, celebrated with her peers.
