On November 3, 2026, the University Lumière Lyon 2 formalized a framework cooperation agreement with the École Normale Supérieure (ENS) of Abidjan, Ivory Coast, thereby strengthening their academic ties.

Following a pre-cooperation visit in November 2025, which identified common areas of interest, the signing of this agreement marks a key step in developing relations between the two institutions. Discussions explored several collaboration avenues, especially in educational sciences, in partnership with Lyon 2's Institute of Educational Sciences and Practices (ISPEF).
Evoked perspectives include student mobility for internships, teacher training, and the development of joint doctoral supervision. Both institutions now intend to mobilize their teaching and scientific teams to bring these projects to fruition.
The agreement was signed at the Berges du Rhône Campus.
