On Monday, October 19, 2026, Nicole Sibeud, Vice-President in charge of Urban Planning, land strategy, and heritage management for the Métropole de Lyon, visited Quincieux for a constructive meeting with Françoise Champavier, the town's Mayor. The discussion covered several important dossiers for Quincieux.
Key topics included the senior residence project named "Vill'âge", a subsidy of €2.86 million approved by the Metropolis on February 16, 2026 (resolution n° CP-2026-5070) for the development of public spaces and roads in the Flandres block, and compensation arrangements related to the demolition of three community halls for this project.
The meeting continued with an on-site visit, allowing Nicole Sibeud to observe the dilapidated state of the existing buildings and the urgency to start the Vill'âge project. The Vice-President's attentive listening and pragmatic approach facilitated constructive exchanges, leading to several shared working perspectives.
A shared commitment to bring the senior residence project to fruition before the end of the current term emerged, along with the possibility of re-evaluating financial conditions for a more advantageous valuation of communal land. The next step will be a working meeting with the Metropolis's services to further discuss these points.
The municipality of Quincieux thanked Nicole Sibeud for her visit and Véronique Sarselli, President of the Métropole de Lyon, for upholding her commitment regarding the visits of vice-presidents to metropolitan municipalities.
