Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, in partnership with Emmaüs Connect and funded by the CVEC, is launching a new digital aid program for its students.

Recognizing the necessity of having a personal computer for studies, Université Lyon 1 is implementing aid for students facing equipment difficulties. This initiative aims to combat digital precarity.
A total of 200 refurbished laptop computers will be distributed during the academic year, with 150 already handed out on Thursday, October 8, 2026. The aid is intended for students whose social and/or financial situation prevents them from acquiring such equipment.
Each application is reviewed individually, considering the student's digital, social, and financial situation, as well as vulnerability factors like low income, social services support, or difficulties faced by international students.
This program is funded by the Contribution de vie étudiante et de campus (CVEC). Emmaüs Connect will handle the equipment distribution, setup support, and after-sales service. The computers are permanently donated to the students.
