The city of Lyon, in partnership with the association Filactions, is organizing the 17th edition of the "Brisons le silence" festival from November 19 to December 4, a 20-day initiative dedicated to combating sexist and domestic violence.

The festival, coinciding with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25, aims to foster a better understanding and prevention of this violence, inform about existing resources, encourage discussion, and denounce sexist acts.
The association Filactions mobilizes its team to highlight and denounce violence against women, particularly domestic violence. The program includes film and documentary screenings, theater plays, exhibitions, concerts, circus and dance performances, readings, workshops, urban walks exploring the history of Lyonnaise women, introductions to feminist self-defense, and conferences.

Theatrical performance Tendre l'oreille - Association Filactions

A key event will take place on Wednesday, November 25 at 7 PM in the Salon Justin Godart of Lyon's City Hall: the play "Tendre l'oreille", inspired by Éléonore Mercier's book « Je suis complètement battue ». Performed by listeners from the national helpline 3919, the play narrates their mission with women victims of domestic violence. The performance will be followed by a panel discussion on the challenges of listening to and supporting individuals experiencing domestic violence.
This performance is free but registration is mandatory via an online link. Domestic violence affects 1 in 10 women in France, encompassing moral, physical, economic, administrative, sexual, or verbal abuse.
The International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, observed on November 25, is a crucial moment for awareness.
