Thanks to the sorting efforts of the inhabitants of the SYTRAIVAL territory, 13,914 tons of glass were collected in 2025. Established in 2017, a contribution of €1 per ton of glass collected in the area is paid to the Rhône Committee of the Cancer League to fund research. This contribution amounts to a donation of €13,914 for the year 2025.
This action gives meaning to the act of sorting and demonstrates a commitment to both environmental preservation and the fight against cancer. Packaging glass – bottles, jars, pots, flasks – is a 100% infinitely recyclable material. Its recycling helps reduce the extraction of natural resources and energy.
For 1 ton of recycled glass, 650 kg of sand, 2 months of energy consumption (KWh), and 8 days of domestic water consumption per person are saved. The correct sorting action is to deposit packaging glass in the designated green bins.
It is reminded that 7 kg of glass per inhabitant are still found in residual household waste, even though it could be recycled indefinitely. SYTRAIVAL thanks all the inhabitants of the territory for their sorting efforts.
