The municipality of Champagne-au-Mont-d'Or is relaunching its citizen participation program, in collaboration with the Limonest gendarmerie. This initiative aims to designate volunteer residents as citizen representatives, who will serve as local liaisons between the population, the town hall, and law enforcement.
These representatives will be tasked with staying attentive to their neighborhood and reporting any unusual or suspicious incidents. It is specified that they will have no police powers and will not conduct any surveillance or intervention activities.
The security of our municipality is everyone's business!
For those interested in getting involved or learning more, a public information meeting is being organized. It will take place on Thursday, November 12, 2026, at 7 PM in the council and wedding hall of the annex town hall. The event will be attended by the municipal police and the Limonest gendarmerie.
The agenda for this meeting includes: a presentation of the program by the gendarmerie's citizen participation representative, an explanation of the citizen representative's role, and a call for applications.
