Place de Jaude in Clermont-Ferrand will host "Pâture, la grande prairie" from October 5 to 8, 2026. This new event, driven by the Sommet de l’élevage (Livestock Summit) and SIDAM (interdepartmental service for the animation of the Massif Central), celebrates the International Year of Pastoral Pathways and Breeders. For this occasion, the SMTC (Syndicat mixte des transports de l’agglomération clermontoise) is joining the event as its official mobility partner.
This partnership aims to facilitate visitor travel between the event's various sites, particularly between the city center and the Grande Halle d’Auvergne, where the Sommet de l’élevage 2026 is taking place.
A special shuttle will be in operation from Tuesday, October 6 to Friday, October 9. It will connect the Lycée La Fayette stop, offering connections with the tramway (line A) and tram-bus (line C), to a dedicated stop at the Sommet de l’Elevage, located near the north entrance of the Grande Halle d’Auvergne.
The event aims to highlight the challenges and benefits of pastoralism and grass-fed livestock farming in the Massif central. The program, from October 3 to 8, includes highlights such as a concert-debate, an inaugural evening, activities for schoolchildren, discussions around the Chaîne des Puys, a producers' market, and festive evenings.
A tram car has also been decorated in the event's colors. This partnership underscores SMTC's commitment to supporting an international-scale event that brings local livestock and pastoralism stakeholders closer to the general public, while facilitating access to the various event sites.
