The Mayor of Clermont-Ferrand, Julien Bony, signed the Night Pact on October 15, 2026, an agreement aimed at enhancing public safety and tranquility while supporting the attractiveness of night businesses.

The City of Clermont-Ferrand, in collaboration with the Prefect of Puy-de-Dôme, Anne Frackowiak-Jacobs, the Public Prosecutor, Éric Serfass, the president of UMIH 63, Grégory Faverdin, and the vice-president of the Université Clermont Auvergne, Jennifer Marchand, has formalized the Night Pact. This collective commitment aims to promote peaceful coexistence between nocturnal activities and residents' lives.
This pact establishes a common framework of rules and mutual commitments for businesses operating between 10 PM and 8 AM. The goal is to support commercial dynamism while ensuring safety, respect for public space, and the tranquility of residents. Adherence is mandatory for the concerned establishments within the city.
Professionals commit to limiting noise pollution and preserving calm around establishments. The pact also addresses the protection of minors from alcohol and reinforces awareness of road safety and addictive behaviors, particularly during student nights, to better prevent risks.
The City of Clermont-Ferrand pledges to inform and support establishments in their commitment to peaceful nocturnal activity. It will also provide mediation services to resolve disputes between establishments or between businesses and residents. A dedicated committee will monitor compliance with commitments and review residents' complaints.
