Following the reopening of several avenues in June, the City of Clermont-Ferrand is continuing its traffic plan with the reopening of Rue de l’Oradou on August 21, 2026.
Since June, two-way traffic had been restored on certain sections of Rue de l’Oradou. The municipality thus reinstated traffic between Rue du Général-Sarrail and Rue Fernand-Raynaud (west-to-east direction), as well as between Rue du Rassat and Rue de la Crouzille (west-to-east direction).
Following consultations with residents on July 1st and 2nd, organized in collaboration with the SMTC, Mayor Julien BONY decided to reopen the street in both directions. Road signage will be adapted progressively.
This development is part of the ongoing changes to the city's major routes, aiming for a balanced traffic plan.
To reach the city center from Rue de l'Oradou, motorists are advised to use Rue Fernand-Raynaud to avoid Rue de la Pradelle, in front of the Paul-Bert primary school. The section of Rue de l'Oradou between Boulevard Fleury and Rue de la Pradelle will remain exclusively for buses in both directions.
