The social housing provider Auvergne Habitat officially inaugurated its new residence 'Les Terrasses de l’Artière' on September 29, located on Route d’Aubière in Beaumont. The ceremony, led by Philippe Bayssade, CEO of Auvergne Habitat, brought together numerous guests, including Jean-François Viguès, Mayor of Beaumont, and elected officials Nadine Dambrun, Christine Lechevallier, and Aurélien Bazin.
Welcoming its first residents in the spring, the residence offers 38 social rental units, ranging from T2 to T4. The construction combines a mixed wood-concrete structure and prioritizes renewable energy. Collective heating is provided by a wood pellet boiler, and domestic hot water production is supplemented by solar thermal panels installed on the roof.
“"With this residence, we are fulfilling our commitment to sustainable housing, with low-carbon wood-concrete construction and a reuse approach. This project illustrates our desire to evolve our practices while offering quality housing to residents."
Jean-François Viguès praised the quality of the construction and the collaboration with Auvergne Habitat, while welcoming the new residents and noting the municipality's attention to future constructions, particularly regarding height.
This project received support from the State, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, the Department of Puy-de-Dôme, Clermont Auvergne Métropole, and Action Logement. The total cost of the operation amounts to 7.36 million euros.
