The town of Beaumont, located in the Puy-de-Dôme department, has officially confirmed it will be a stage for the Tour de France Femmes in the summer of 2027. This announcement comes the day after the presentation of the route for the next edition of the cycling race.
Marion Rousse, director of the Tour de France Femmes, was welcomed at the town hall by Mayor Jean-François Viguès and several local officials. The delegation also included Lionel Chauvin, President of the Departmental Council of Puy-de-Dôme, and Aurélien Bazin, Chief of Staff and Beaumont elected official. Two young members of the Children's Municipal Council (CME) were also present.
The route for this edition, unveiled on October 22nd, features a spectacular final finish on July 7th at the summit of the Puy de Dôme. The race, taking place from July 30th to August 7th, 2027, will consist of nine stages. The stage on July 6th, from La Bourboule to Clermont over 155 km with 3000m of elevation gain, is expected to be particularly demanding.
For Beaumont, hosting the Tour de France Femmes is a great source of pride. The event is seen as an opportunity to unite generations around a shared passion for sport and to promote the values of self-improvement, solidarity, and the joy of collective experience. The town is preparing to cheer on the champions and make this passage a moment of sport and conviviality.
“

"It's a mountain stage that will be extremely difficult, with over 3,000 meters of positive elevation gain. With not a flat meter, we will tackle all the challenges of the region. We are happy to bring our wheels here because it's a department we are used to visiting, whether with the Tour de France Men or Women, and we are never disappointed with the race scenario. We truly feel a popular fervor on the roadsides, as well as in the welcome from local authorities."
