Following the success of the Masters de Pétanque in July, Saint-Étienne is set to host the Trophée des Villes from January 21 to 24, 2027, at the Parc des Expositions.

The city of Saint-Étienne, which buzzed with the Masters de Pétanque last July, is solidifying its status as a pétanque capital. The Place de l'Hôtel de Ville was transformed into a sporting arena, attracting top champions and an enthusiastic audience.
This popular success has reinforced the municipality's ambitions. Now, the city is gearing up for a new winter event: the Trophée des Villes, scheduled from January 21 to 24, 2027, at the Parc des Expositions.
Established in 2001, the Trophée des Villes is now in its 25th edition and has become a key fixture in French pétanque. For this edition, 32 French cities will compete in an original format featuring two doublettes, one triplette, and a decisive shooting round if necessary.
Legends of the sport, including Dylan Rocher, Henri Lacroix, Philippe Quintais, and Philippe Suchaud, are expected to participate.
Beyond the competition, the Parc des Expositions will be transformed into a festive space with stands, an entertainment village, and hospitality areas, aiming to make pétanque a spectacle accessible to all.
