The Itinérances network, which unites the 17 media libraries of the Pays du Gier, is organizing a grand festive day around books, reading, and culture. The event will take place on Saturday, October 3rd, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Salle de la Gare in Saint-Martin-la-Plaine.
For this new edition of Lire & Délires, the network's librarians have designed a rich and accessible program for all ages. Shows, music, games, creative workshops, and activities will allow families to discover reading in original and fun ways.
Starting at 10 a.m., visitors can enjoy numerous free activities: a Ludobus, reading corners, creative workshops, screen printing, live sketching, participatory coloring, literary Mölkky, disco-quizz, musical games, and an introduction to unplugged programming with Cubetto.
The day will also be punctuated by several highlights: at 10:30 a.m., a storytelling session for children aged 0 to 5; throughout the day, Sissi the clown will offer humorous and poetic encounters; and at 4 p.m., the duo Fahro will conclude the day with a one-hour concert blending pop, body percussion, and festive energy.
The Louise Labé media library in Saint-Chamond is fully participating in this day organized by the Itinérances network, and will therefore be exceptionally closed to the public on Saturday, October 3rd. Its librarians will be present in Saint-Martin-la-Plaine to welcome visitors.
Practical information: Saturday, October 3rd, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Salle de la Gare, 2 bis rue René Charre, Saint-Martin-la-Plaine. Entry is free, with food trucks, a refreshment stand, and crepes available on site.
