On Friday, October 2nd at 5 PM, Pierre Chabert Square in Villard-de-Lans will reopen after two weeks of construction. More than just an intersection or parking lot, this square is a central living space for residents, where locals meet and exchange greetings daily.
The main, discreet yet essential, project involved separating rainwater and wastewater systems in Bévière Street and part of the square. This environmental measure helps protect the river and eases the burden on the wastewater treatment plant. All manhole covers and drains have been replaced, ensuring a reliable and efficient network for years to come.
Regarding the road surface, the pavement was meticulously prepared by planing off the old asphalt, promising a new, durable, smooth, and clean coating. Finishing touches, including signage and parking space markings, have been completed to facilitate users' habits.
