Each year, the October Rose campaign highlights the importance of breast cancer prevention and screening. In Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, the participation rate in organized mammography screening remains stable, standing at 51.5% for the 2024-2025 period. In Isère, this rate reaches 52.4%. This screening is intended for women aged 50 to 74 and is covered 100% by Health Insurance.
In Vienne, associations, health professionals, and local stakeholders are joining forces throughout October. The goal is to inform, raise awareness, and provide support to those affected by the disease.
On Saturday, October 3rd, the Tennis Club de Vienne is organizing a solidarity afternoon from 2 PM to 6:30 PM. The program includes multi-racket workshops, children's activities, breast cancer awareness, and a raffle. Funds raised will be donated to the association Jeune & Rose.
On Sunday, October 18th, the association Solidairement Vôtre is organizing the Marche Rose (Pink Walk). This solidarity event aims to bring Viennese residents together for a common cause: supporting women affected by breast cancer and emphasizing the importance of screening. Registration is 10 euros, with the 7km walk starting at 2:30 PM from the salle des fêtes, place de Miremont.
An awareness day will be held on Monday, October 26th, at the Hôpital Lucien Hussel in Vienne, from 10 AM to 2 PM. The public will be able to get information about screening, participate in a self-palpation workshop with a health professional (from 10 AM to 12 PM), and schedule mammography appointments.
