The municipality of Theys has signed a loan agreement with Le Grésivaudan to provide a wood chipper free of charge. This equipment will be available in the town between November 18 and November 30, 2026.
Residents wishing to borrow the chipper must make a reservation with the town hall. Half-day or full-day slots are available. Reservations can be made by calling 04.76.71.05.47 or by emailing accueil@theys.fr.
In return for the loan, the borrower agrees to use the resulting chippings for composting or mulching at home, and not to dispose of them at the recycling center.
The equipment provided is a semi-professional thermal branch chipper manufactured by Bugnot, model BV N45 (or equivalent), mounted on a trailer. It features a SP 95 gasoline engine, a flail cutting system, and weighs 530 kg. It can process branches up to 10 cm in diameter, with a maximum output of 5m³/h of chippings from 20 m³/h of branches. Its fuel consumption is 6L/h with a 33L tank.
