From September 25 to October 25, 2026, the Grenoble Metropolis is organizing the Food Transition Month, highlighting local livestock farming and more sustainable food through various events.

The Grenoble Metropolis celebrates the return of the Food Transition Month, taking place from September 25 to October 25, 2026. This edition particularly focuses on local livestock farming, in line with the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists, under the theme « better, but less meat ».
Throughout the month, numerous events are offered across the region to discover local initiatives and discuss more sustainable food. These events include farm visits, workshops, meetings, tastings, and activities, providing opportunities to understand the challenges of local livestock farming and meet those dedicated to quality food.
In Saint-Martin-d'Hères, several events are scheduled: an introduction to organic mushroom production with Champiloop on September 30, followed by the "Foire verte du murier" (Green Mulberry Fair) on October 4 on the Murier hill. Every Wednesday afternoon, the Fernand Texier neighborhood center hosts a distribution of local fruit and vegetable baskets, while every Thursday morning, the same venue offers a garden café workshop.
October 10 will mark the first edition of the peasant festival Chèvre et Chou (Goat and Cabbage Festival), a festive day focused on the farm and peasant agriculture. The fortnight of the food transition will then take place, from the central kitchen to the plate, promoting healthy and ecological food. On October 14, a conference titled "Living with wolves" will explore the presence of wolves in the Belledonne massif.
