The water situation in the Bièvre plain is critical. Due to the absence of significant rainfall during the summer, source flow now equals distributed flow, leaving no margin. Consequently, all municipalities in the area have been placed under the highest drought crisis level since July 13, 2026.
Users are urged to immediately and significantly reduce their water consumption. They are asked to limit themselves to essential sanitary needs, check for leaks on their private installations, and report any detected leaks as soon as possible. These collective efforts aim to prevent potential water cutoffs or costly refilling of reservoirs by tanker trucks.
The Bièvre Est Water Authority is also taking action. It will launch a fifth campaign to search for and repair leaks in the municipality of Izeaux and will implement awareness initiatives for the largest water consumers.
For any information or to report leaks, the Bièvre Est Water Authority can be reached at 0 800 948 421.
