The Les Arts en Herbe festival returns from October 9 to 25 for its 18th edition, featuring thirteen live performance events, including theater, circus, and music, across thirteen towns in Bièvre Isère.

From October 9 to 25, the Les Arts en Herbe festival returns for its 18th edition, focusing on discovery and sharing. The event offers thirteen traveling performances of theater, circus, music, magic, games, and public readings, aimed at children, teenagers, and families in Bièvre Isère.
The principle remains the same: to circulate performing arts throughout the territory and allow residents to discover varied artistic proposals close to home. This edition will visit thirteen towns: Saint-Étienne de Saint-Geoirs, Brézins, Plan, Saint-Hilaire de la Côte, La Forteresse, Brion, Longechenal, Saint-Michel de Saint-Geoirs, Saint-Geoirs, Saint-Paul d’Izeaux, La Frette, Le Mottier, and Sillans. Shows, themed days, and free activities will punctuate these two weeks.
The festival will open on Friday, October 9, at 6:30 PM at the Salle des Spectacles in Saint-Étienne de Saint-Geoirs with "Prélude pour un poisson rouge" by the company Sans Gravité. This musical adventure combines juggling, magic, and martial arts.
The opening weekend continues on Saturday, October 10, at 4:30 PM at the Salle Le Tremplin in Brézins with "Brouillon," a theatrical tale blending new magic and puppetry, also by the company Sans Gravité. On Sunday, October 11, the Salle des Fêtes in Plan will host the first "Festi’Bulle" with two performances of "Bruit des nuages" by the company Léopoldine Papier, a paper, shadow, and object theater for children aged 3 and up (limited capacity).
The festival will also address contemporary issues. On Thursday, October 15, at 6:30 PM, at the Foyer Rural in La Forteresse, "Lonely Sweety" by the company La Dérouillée will explore, with dark humor and sensitivity, the links between social networks and body image. This free, solo performance, accessible from age 10, will be followed by a discussion with the artist.
Moments are also designed for family cultural sharing. On Wednesday, October 14, a day will be dedicated to early childhood with musical awakening workshops and "Sillons," a show by the company Zeïf for babies aged 4 to 18 months (registration required).
The "Festi’Bulles" will bring libraries and media centers out of their walls. On Thursday, October 22, from 2 PM to 6 PM in Saint-Paul d’Izeaux, "Festi’ludo – Le Tour du monde des jeux" will bring together the intercommunal toy library and the Maison des jeux de Grenoble for an intergenerational afternoon of discovery and sharing.
The festival will conclude on Sunday, October 25, at the gymnasium in Sillans with a day dedicated to circus arts. At 3:30 PM, "Le P’tit Cirk" by the company Commun Accord will combine juggling, acrobatics, magic, and clowning. The "Grand Cabaret cirque d’Arlo et Argh" by the company Prise de Pied will close this 18th edition.
Shows are offered at a single price of 6 euros. Tickets are available on-site one hour before each performance or can be booked online.
