Grenoble Alpes University (UGA) invites you to the inauguration of its monumental artwork "The Dragon and the Serpent", created by the collective UV LAB. This event will take place on Thursday, October 13, 2026 at 5:30 PM on the esplanade of the MUSE building, in the heart of the university campus in Saint-Martin-d'Hères.
The sculpture, composed of two intertwined spirals, is inspired by the founding rivers of the Grenoble region, the Drac and the Isère, traditionally nicknamed the Dragon and the Serpent. It also evokes the history of hydroelectricity and "white coal," which significantly marked the scientific and university development of Grenoble.
This collective work was designed based on responses from over 1,300 people from the university community and beyond, following a questionnaire. It is funded by the university.
For organizational purposes, registration is required before October 8, 2026 via the online form. The inauguration program will begin at 5:15 PM with a fanfare welcome, followed by a presentation of the artwork by the artists and official speeches, before the inaugural gesture at 5:55 PM.
The information collected through this form is processed by the UGA Communication Department and retained for a maximum of two months, in accordance with GDPR.
