Founded two years ago, the association Les Viscosières aims to foster connection, sharing, and cohesion among women in the neighborhood. "I am very proud to have had this idea," shares Sophie Jorge-Nini, the association's president, highlighting the initiative's success with now fifty members.
The association offers a variety of activities: a sewing workshop led by Isabelle at the MDH Ponatière, a bi-monthly coffee chat for discussing various topics, leisure and cultural outings (La Rampe, MC2, cinema), Pilates sessions twice a week, and coffee breaks at the musée Géo-Charles. It also organizes a wellness fair and a lottery planned for April.
The inauguration of the new premises, a former restaurant-foyer renovated by members with L’Atelier des femmes des Compagnons bâtisseurs, marks a significant milestone. "This space allows us to meet, to have a place of our own, adapted to our needs and desires," explains the president. Mayor Amandine Demore praised the association's commitment, emphasizing its importance for the women in the area.
The primary goal of Les Viscosières is to enable women to feel comfortable and to value their skills. "We all have something to share," states Sophie Jorge-Nini. "When one of them tells me the association has helped her leave her home and make connections, that's the greatest reward."
