The ceremony honored athletes and sports personalities for their achievements and dedication. Mayor Amandine Demore stated in her opening remarks that these individuals "make Échirolles shine in Isère, in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, throughout the country, the continent, and sometimes even the entire world!".
The event evoked strong emotions, even among parents. The father of a young figure skater, who received a sports bag and a city diploma, shared that she "hadn't slept since she knew she was going to be rewarded!".
Among those honored was Monique Mopin, a former leader of ALE basket, recognized for her long-term volunteer commitment. She stood alongside Aurélie Lêveque, a figure skater from the ALE Ice Club and participant in the recent Olympic Games, symbolizing a meaningful moment of intergenerational sharing.
