As emergency security work in Veyrier-du-Lac continues since September 14, the municipality and its partners are providing an update on the situation. These interventions have a significant impact on local travel, particularly between Annecy and the Aravis region.
Traffic, including heavy goods vehicles, is being rerouted through Veyrier-du-Lac, leading to extended travel times, especially during peak hours. It is advised to limit leisure travel on diversion routes, particularly on the RD909 between Veyrier-du-Lac and the col de Bluffy.
For cyclists, the ascent between Veyrier-du-Lac and the col de Bluffy via the RD909 is prohibited. A diversion is signposted via Menthon-Saint-Bernard. It is also recommended to postpone trips to the cols of Bluffy, la Forclaz, and le Marais due to traffic intensity.
Lake shuttles, used daily by approximately 250 passengers, are experiencing suspended connections to Annecy due to the lake's decreasing water level. The Talloires–Doussard link remains operational with adjusted schedules to facilitate connections with bus n°20, and advance booking is mandatory.
Carpooling is showing significant growth, with 595 carpoolers recorded during the fourth week of September, compared to 139 in the first week. Since September 1, 767 trips have been made under the partnership with BlaBlaCar Daily.
Regarding public transport, four additional express services are running on line Y51. The departure from Faverges-Seythenex is now set for 6:55 AM, without changing the arrival time in Annecy. Delays observed on Sibra lines n°15 and n°20 are tending to decrease, and connections with lake shuttles have been adjusted.
The greenway, RD909A, and RD16 remain strictly closed to all traffic, including pedestrians and cyclists, due to rockfall clearing and safety operations.
Major GPS navigation systems have been updated with road closures, although some cycling routes may still not fully reflect current prohibitions.
The municipality of Veyrier-du-Lac continues to closely monitor the situation and its developments with all partners.
