A new LoRaWAN antenna was installed on Thursday, October 15th, on the roof of the main Syane building, bringing the total number of deployed installations in the department to ten. This infrastructure, now managed by Altitude Infra Haute-Savoie, aims to extend the network's coverage for connected objects. The goal is to deploy nearly 200 antennas by the end of 2028.
This network supports local authorities in their digital and energy transition projects. Feedback from communities shows strong interest in the potential of the LoRaWAN network, particularly for optimizing water resources (remote meter reading, reservoir monitoring, leak detection), improving energy efficiency (building technical management, public lighting control), enhancing quality of life (air quality monitoring, optimization of voluntary drop-off points, river monitoring), and facilitating mobility (pedestrian and bicycle counting, parking management, hiking trail usage monitoring).
IoT experiments conducted by Syane have already helped several communities with projects for remote water meter reading and air quality monitoring in public buildings.
Syane's Digital Consulting service assists local authorities with their IoT projects, including help in choosing sensors and access to a shared platform for real-time data visualization and analysis.
