On October 15th, the Municipality hosted local business owners in Faverges-Seythenex for an initial presentation and exchange meeting. The session, opened by Mayor Yves Crépel, who is also the Vice-President of the Community of Communes for economic development, was led by Sunny Vendis, Deputy Mayor for commerce, crafts, and employment.
The objective of this meeting was to present the findings from surveys conducted among residents and businesses regarding the town center, initiate discussion periods with business owners about their current situation and challenges, and launch a collective reflection on revitalizing the town center.
Following the presentation, business owners shared their perspectives on various topics, including feelings of insecurity in the town center, the future of certain buildings in the Boucheroz area, current roadworks by the Departmental Council causing the closure of the Talloires road, the Christmas market, the link between the Boucheroz zone and the town center, parking, and the creation of a new festival committee.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for recently established businesses to introduce themselves: Ingrid from VICC Hôtel (formerly Gay Séjour), Florent from the shoe repair shop, Océane, a seamstress and dry-cleaning drop-off point, Denis from the Bistrot du château, Abdel with his bookstore/vinyl sales, and Stefano, an ice cream vendor at the Kiosque du parc Berger.
Sunny Vendis concluded the meeting by thanking all participants for their presence and for the quality of the exchanges and shared experiences. 'We are open, available, and committed to dialogue to move things forward, with a strong desire to share and build with you throughout the year.' The evening continued with a convivial moment, fostering further discussions. The results of the questionnaires will be published soon on the town's website.
