The Bois des Machurettes, located in Epagny Metz-Tessy, reopened its trails to the public on October 14, 2026, following the completion of sanitation cutting work.

Significant bark beetle infestations had weakened a portion of the forest stands, necessitating sanitation cutting. This work has now concluded, allowing the trails to reopen.
A replanting operation is scheduled for Autumn 2027. It will target Plot C, located along the route de la montagne, the area most affected by the insects. This initiative will be carried out in collaboration with the ONF (National Forestry Office).
Three species have been selected for their resilience and adaptability to climate change: the Service tree (alisier torminal), Douglas fir, and Sessile oak.
