The municipality of Contamine-sur-Arve is hosting 'From Bach to Gould, Variations in Trio,' an original performance that merges music and theater. The event offers an exploration of the famous Goldberg Variations by Johann Sebastian Bach, enriched by the universe of pianist Glenn Gould.
The performance features a string trio, composed of Nadège Gruffat-Poulain on violin, Marie-Barbara Berlaud on viola, and Virginie Millour on cello. Actress Hélène Gratet completes the cast. This concert-show provides a sensitive immersion into the free, demanding, and visionary thought of Glenn Gould.
Through an alternation of music, readings of texts from interviews with Bruno Monsaingeon, and photographic projections, the audience is invited to discover this monumental work from a new perspective. Bach's polyphony becomes a true dialogue between the instruments and the spoken word.
The performance will take place on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 6:00 PM in the Salle polyvalente de Villy, in Contamine-sur-Arve. The program includes Johann Sebastian Bach's Goldberg Variations (arranged for string trio), readings of texts about Glenn Gould, and a photographic projection.
