From September 18 to December 13, the "De lignes en Scène" festival enlivens Drôme libraries, celebrating women through shows, music, theater, storytelling, and dance. On October 3-4, the Château de Grignan will host a major weekend dedicated to words and letters.

The 15th edition of the festival « De lignes en Scène » takes place from September 18 to December 13 in the libraries of the Drôme. This year, the event particularly highlights women through a varied program including shows, music, theater, storytelling, and dance.
The weekend of October 3-4, 2026 marks the highlight of the Année Sévigné (Sévigné Year) at the Château de Grignan. Following a year of celebrations for the 400th anniversary of the Marquise's birth, this event will focus on her legacy: words and letters. For two days, the château will come alive with readings, verbal jousts, slam poetry, theater performances, and games, offering a vibrant rediscovery of the art of correspondence and conversation from the 17th century.
Visitors can follow a scenographed route from 10 AM to 6 PM, punctuated by readings, theatrical improvisations, and slam performances. The verbal jousts by Les Excités will bridge the language of yesterday and today, while Les Murmures de l’Onde will resonate with slam poetry, contrasting the words of the Grand Siècle with those of our time.
Unique encounters are planned, such as La Ruelle – Ciel en Soi, where visitors can witness exchanges between Madame de Sévigné and her son about their lives and the codes of the 17th century. The quirky game Burger Marquizz will offer an immersion into the Marquise's world, and an actress and storyteller will bring Madame de Sévigné's letters to life.
The public is invited to participate actively. Radio du cinéma will host a participatory workshop, and traditional games like croquet and the game of the goose will be available outdoors. A small open-air theater will also allow visitors to try their hand at reciting classic monologues. Videos on 17th-century texts and fables will complete the experience.
This weekend will also feature the unveiling of the winning entries from the Correspondances animées (Animated Correspondences) competition, launched by the Département. Animated films based on the winning letters and photographs from the Departmental Archives will be presented, with the filmmakers present on the afternoon of Saturday, October 3. A video from the project on Madame de Sévigné, conducted by the Youth Council of the Drôme Department, will also be shown.
The festival will take place on Saturday, October 3, and Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 10 AM to 6 PM continuously. Animations are included in the château's visitor ticket. Ticket prices are €10 for full admission, €8 for reduced rates, and free for children under 12, with other usual château free admission conditions also applying.
