The inauguration of the "La montagne" hiking trail took place this Friday, September 25th. This circuit, operational for a few months, spans 13.6 km and promises magnificent viewpoints over the Saoû forest and the Couspeau ridge.
The ceremony was held at the starting point in Francillon-sur-Roubion. It was attended by Christine Marion, President of the Community of Communes, and Claude Pieragostini, Deputy Councilor for Sports. Also present were Christian Blachier, Mayor of Francillon-sur-Roubion, his deputy Aurore Magnon, Vincent Rascle, Departmental Councilor for Nature Sports, and Bernard Lescroart, president of the association Les Chemineaux et Cheminaudes de Francillon.
Christine Marion recalled that the Community of Communes has been responsible for managing hiking trails since the 1990s. She emphasized the importance of the work carried out in collaboration with local associations for maintenance and signage, highlighting the remarkable contribution of the hiking association "Les Chemineaux et Cheminaudes de Francillon".
This trail, accessible for several months, forms a 13.6 km loop with an elevation gain of 460m. It crosses the communes of Francillon-sur-Roubion and Le Poet-Celard, offering a variety of landscapes including forests, streams, meadows, and cultivated fields.
The Intercommunal body has also ensured the "security" of the circuit through passage agreements with the 5 concerned landowners. This trail is in addition to the 34 hiking circuits in the territory, all listed on the website of the Drôme Valley Tourist Office.
