The election for the Youth Municipal Council took place on Thursday, October 8, from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM, at the Town Hall. The newly elected youths will serve a two-year term. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Mayors Sylvie ROUSSEAU, Michel CAMPOUS, and Brigitte TORTET, as well as delegated councilors Serge BALLET, Charlotte THINEY, and Claude DEFAIVRE.
Only 9 voters participated in the election for 8 candidates, indicating very low turnout despite communication efforts towards the youth and their families. The voting and counting followed official protocol, including a voting booth, attendance sheets, and an ballot box.
A snack was offered by the Municipality before the vote count. The list of 8 candidates was unanimously elected. The new elected members expressed their enthusiasm and plans for the municipality.
The installation council, where Herve COULMONT, Mayor of Soyons, will present the sashes, will be held on Thursday, October 15, at 4:30 PM in the Town Hall. The first official ceremony for the new team is scheduled for November 11.
