The inter-municipal communities of the Gorges de l'Ardèche and the Rhône aux Gorges de l'Ardèche are joining forces for an artistic project dedicated to pastoralism. This agricultural practice, with its strong cultural dimension, is the subject of a pastoral plan currently being developed in these territories to promote it.
The objective of this project is the creation of a play and a sound exhibition. The company La Ligne will engage with local residents and stakeholders from September to November 2026 to gather material. From November 2026 to January 2027, a play will be created with participating residents and stakeholders. Theatrical performances are scheduled for February 2027, followed by the launch of a touring sound exhibition in Spring 2027.
Several events are proposed: meetings by appointment with the company La Ligne (from September 28 to October 2 and October 12 to 18). A concert titled 'la Vidala' will take place on Saturday, September 5 at the Ferme Cabre é Cade in Lagorce, as part of a concert series organized by Pile (formerly Smac07), featuring stands on pastoralism.
Workshops are also planned for schoolchildren and the general public. Podcast and radio creation workshops will run from November to February. Theatre creation and discovery workshops, open to all, will be held on Saturday, November 28 in Saint-Alban-Auriolles and Sunday, November 29 in Larnas, from 10 am to 5 pm. Registration is free with the company La Ligne.
A discovery day and meeting with the play's creation group is scheduled for Sunday, December 13. Rehearsal weekends are planned for January 9-10 and 23-24. Registration is free.
The collectively created play will be performed on Saturday, February 6 at La Crypte in Lagorce and on Sunday, February 7 at the Viviers theatre.
