The Department of Ardèche launches its October Pink 2026 campaign, marking a month of commitment against breast cancer with a series of local events aimed at informing and encouraging screening.

The Department of Ardèche is once again engaging in the fight against breast cancer, on the occasion of October Pink, a month of awareness and prevention for this disease that affects over 60,000 women each year in France. Within this framework, numerous initiatives are being implemented throughout October to inform, raise awareness, and support local screening efforts.
A month of information, 12 months of mobilization! 1 in 8 women risks developing breast cancer. Each year, early detection saves thousands of lives. October Pink is a month of information and dialogue to combat breast cancer.
This year again, all of Ardèche is coming together for numerous events. Throughout October, events are organized in the communes of Ardèche to support this important cause. Among the scheduled activities are information and self-monitoring stands at the Privas Hospital and the Aubenas Hospital Center, pink walks and runs in La Voulte-sur-Rhône and Annonay, choir concerts in Cruas and Guilherand-Granges, as well as sports tournaments and family days in various locations such as Boulieu-lès-Annonay, Saint-Montan, and Le Teil.
The detailed program also includes pink boutiques, film-debate evenings at the Le Navire Cinema in Aubenas, aquatic events like Aquarose in Annonay, and outdoor activities such as trails and hikes in places like Lalouvesc and Ruoms. Initiatives like the Cyclo Tour starting from Privas and sales of local products are also planned to support the cause.
Breast cancer screening is essential. The primary risk factor is age, with nearly 80% of cancers developing after 50. Screening through mammography, combined with a clinical examination, allows for the early detection of lesions. The message is clear: from the age of 50, get screened every two years.
